Use approved mounting points
Look for threaded bottle bosses provided by the frame manufacturer. Confirm the correct fastener size and length. Do not drill a frame or create a new structural mounting point.
Measure bottle access
Check the space above and beside the cage position with the intended bottle. Small frames may need side-entry access, while frame bags, suspension components, or batteries may reduce usable room.
Match retention to the ride
Smooth-road riding and rough trails place different demands on bottle retention. The bottle should enter and release predictably while remaining secure over the surfaces you ride.
Install without damaging the frame
Use the specified washers and torque. Fasteners that are too long may damage internal parts, and overtightening can harm frame inserts or lightweight cages. Recheck the bolts periodically.
